This authentic Austro-Hungarian tunic reproduces the Pattern 1851–54 uniform worn during the 1859 Italian campaign, from Montebello to Solferino. It is based on an original tunic from a private collection, supported by examination of four comparable surviving examples in the museums of Milan, Melegnano, and Solferino, together with official period regulations.
Made from fine white wool cloth, the tunic is lined with natural hemp canvas (Zwilch) through the body and fine cotton in the skirts. Brass or pewter buttons are supplied according to the chosen regiment.
Available for German and Hungarian infantry regiments, Jägers, artillery, dragoons, chevau-légers, pioneers, gendarmerie, and other applicable branches.
