This French infantry overcoat is available in the 1844, 1855, or 1858 patterns. It is made from authentic gris-de-fer-bleuté blue-grey melange wool, with a linen lining and brass regimental buttons.
The M1844 and M1855 patterns were worn during the Crimean War, while the M1858 pattern saw service in the 1859 Italian campaign, including Montebello, Magenta, and Solferino.
Each coat is meticulously reproduced from surviving originals and follows the official specifications published in the Journal Militaire. Traditional hand-sewn stitching is used throughout much of the construction to preserve the period character and craftsmanship.
