This historically accurate Sardinian-Piedmontese Pattern 1843 tunic reproduces the uniform worn until 1848 during the First Italian War of Independence. It is based on an original surviving tunic held by the Museo dei Granatieri in Rome, together with comparable examples from private collections.
Made from blue wool cloth, the tunic is lined with white cotton through the body and fine black basino fabric in the skirts. It features a double-breasted front with two rows of nine pewter buttons, while the standing collar and piping are finished in the chosen brigade colour.
